Your health and mana are displayed at all times on the bottom left of the screen in globes with numbers on them. The bigger globe with red fluid inside corresponds to your health, and then smaller globe with blue fluid corresponds to mana. Your health will decrease when you take damage in a duel, and if your health goes below 0, you will be defeated and transported back to the Home location of the world you are in.

Yes, failed spells (fizzles) use Mana too! Rank 0 spells, like many shields, use no Mana. If you flee from a duel, your Mana will drop to zero. You will want to refill some or all of your Mana before you attempt to fight again. [[Duels#Player_vs_Player|Player vs Player Duels]] in the Arena will not cause you to lose Mana.

There are a few ways to refill your Health and Mana, which include wisps, regeneration, potions and minigames.
Your mana decreases with each rank 1 and up spell that you cast. If a spell costs 3 pips in a duel, then you use 3 mana. Rank 0 spells don't cost any mana. If you fizzle a spell you still lose mana. If you flee from a duel, your mana also goes down to zero. When your mana goes down to zero, it is very difficult to cast spells and thus hard to win duels, therefore you need to get it recharged.

There is a spot to play mini-games in each world, and they are usually indicated by a small blue circle with fire around it. Next to your health and mana globes, you will find little flasks. These flasks can carry around extra mana and health for you when you run around. Think of them as your back up health and mana supply. To fill up these flasks, you have to play mini-games when your mana globe is full.

Every world has spots to play Mini-games, most of them are in the "Commons" areas, except for Dragonspyre where they are in The Atheneum.
